Education Grants
The applications for 2026 education grants will open in February 2026. Check out our site then to get the link to the application form.
Education grants are available to those studying at a tertiary institute or university who whakapapa directly to an owner in Onuku Maori Lands Trust. All applicants Applications run from 1 February 2026 to late March.
Kaumatua
Owners in the Trust, aged 65 years or over are entitled to apply for a payment of up to $200.00 per annum under the Kaumatua Grants. Applications are accepted from the date of the AGM until 15th June following. The grants are paid in December each year.

Sporting and Cultural Grants
The trust does have the ability to provide Discretionary Grants for sporting and cultural representation for Onuku owners or their descendants who are representing Aotearoa New Zealand in a sporting or cultural event overseas.
Owners Grants
Each year the trust pays an owners grant to every owner for whom we hold address and bank account details. These grants are based upon the number of shares you hold but at a mimimum are $50. They do not accumulate and are not back dated so it is important that you keep your bank account and address up to date with us so you do not miss out on this payment. You must be a registered owner or whanau trust to qualify and complete our registration form below.
